Cooking is better
with community

Commonpot is a place to share recipes, sharpen your skills, and connect with the cooks, kitchens, and flavors around you.

Our Mission

Food is one of the most personal and universal things we share. Our mission is to make that sharing easier — to help people pass down family recipes, discover new cuisines, learn real techniques, and build the kind of community that forms around a shared table.

Three things we believe in

📖

Learn

Cooking is a skill anyone can build. Explore our culinary encyclopedia, preservation guides, and technique flowcharts — then trade skills with other cooks in your neighborhood.

🤝

Connect

Follow the cooks you admire. Join a house, a neighborhood group, or a cook-along. Book a private chef, RSVP to a dining event, or swap skills with someone nearby.

🌍

Experience

The best food comes from your neighborhood. Browse local vendors, gardens, kitchens, foraging spots, and farmers markets — all within reach of your kitchen.

The Story

Commonpot started with a simple frustration: great recipes scattered across emails, text threads, screenshots, and memory. The best food anyone ever made for us came from people who learned it from someone else — a grandmother, a neighbor, a friend who traveled somewhere interesting — and those recipes deserve a better home than a screenshot buried in a phone.

We wanted a place that felt like a recipe box passed down through a family, not a content farm optimized for ad clicks. A place where you know who made the dish, what they changed, and whether the people who tried it loved it.

Over time, that vision grew. If recipes are worth preserving, so are the skills behind them. And if skills are worth sharing, so are the people who hold them. Commonpot is our attempt to build all three — a recipe archive, a cooking school, and a community — in one place.
